G.E. Makes It Official: NBC Will Go to Comcast

Comcast (the largest cable operator in the US providing cable TV, broadcast internet, and telephone service) has purchased a majority of NBC Universal (NBCU) which will give birth to a media superpower in the US. Comcast will gain 51% stake in NBCU from a deal that is worth $13.75bn. The joint business deal will be managed by Comcast and the chief executive position will be served by Jeff Zucker, who is the current president and chief of NBCU.

So what does this mean to consumers. More content delivered to people variety wise. Movies can also be shown earlier on cable after it is released from theater. Furthermore television shows will also be appearing quicker in your favorite mobile device.
