The Google Nexus One aka Google Phone was released to the public on January 5th. The Nexus One was touted as another “iPhone killer,” almost every phone now that comes out is labeled that. Now that a few days have passed and I’ve got a chance to play with the device I must say I am impressed (except for the music player, I’ll still carry around a Nano with this). I wouldn’t call it an iPhone killer but it will certainly take a bite out of the apple. One thing that I like about the phone is how it syncs everything in the Google world. Since I live in a cloud of Google Apps to host my email, calendar, and contacts this might take the place of my trusty Blackberry once this makes it over to Verizon. The only thing that I might miss from the Blackberry is the BBM and the perfect keyboard. I’m not going to go to a full review there’s already a plethora floating around on the web. Hopefully when this makes it to Verizon the slow web browsing and terrible costumer service from Google is improved. Also has anyone notice the marketing of the phone? No TV ads but instead almost every google ad space has the Nexus One, smart.
*NOTE* January 5 is also the birthday of Sir Issac Newton, who explained the law of gravity when a supposed “apple” fell on his head…
