Got hooked up with a new pair of Kobe’s again this year. The Kobe V were great and the Kobe VI is actually better. The Kobe VI’s are not revolutionary like the V’s but is instead an evolution of last years model.
The most noticeable thing about the shoe is its looks. The scale covering of the shoe gives it a unique look on its own. Under these scales are new Flywire construction which give the VI’s a better lock down fit than the V. Compared to last years shoe the VI’s are lighter only by an ounce. Performance wise the shoe is almost identical to the V’s and improves mostly on fit.
The molded heel counter above give the VI’s a better lock down feel in the heel compared to the V’s. The sockliner is similar to the V’s
The insoles are an improvement from last years model. They are much thicker and after a few games molds to your foot.
The outsole once again delivers in the VI’s. They provide great traction in all court types even in dusty conditions.
The court feel of the VI’s are slightly different from the V’s. They are actually lower to the ground than the V’s but offer more cushioning than the V’s. Zoom Air in the heel and forefoot make a comeback.
Seen here is the sockliner. Same exact material and design as the V’s, same results. Very breathable.
Overall the Zoom Kobe VI’s are great shoes to ball in. Are they better than the V’s? Yes, since it improves on the fit.
